Blaze Construction has a wealth of experience with a reputation for producing a quality job within budget and on time in any or all of the following sectors: civil engineering, speculative private housing, Housing Association, construction and commercial projects.

OUR History

Established in 1991 by Eugene Broderick, Blaze Construction rapidly grew to be recognised as one of the premier ground working companies in the South of England.

Eugene recognised the need for a reliable, quality groundworks and civil engineering company which was aware of project and site management requirements and as a result he now employs or engages over 300 members of staff and contractors.

Blaze Construction was certificated for the ISO 9002 Quality Standard in 1992 and has since been upgraded to ISO 9001. We also work and adhere to the principals contained within ISO 140001 and OHSAS 180001. Health and Safety procedures are strictly applied and Blaze Construction´s safety record speaks for itself. Monthly site inspections are carried out by an external Safety Consultant in addition to the regular inspections by senior NEBOSH certified staff and directors. Blaze Construction insists on ongoing safety training and all Operatives hold current CSCS cards and Plant Operators hold current Operator Certificates. Plant is regularly checked and serviced and records of the above are held at Head Office.

All estimating, surveying and setting out is carried out by Blaze Construction´s own highly experienced directly employed staff. Blaze Construction currently enjoys a turnover in the region of £35,000,000 per annum.

Health and Safety

The Managing Director, Senior Management and workforce are committed to working safely and view this as an integral part of Blaze Construction’s day to day routine.

Personnel are site inducted and attend regular tool box talks. They are also all given a copy of the Health & Safety Handbook and Rules which is explained to them. They then sign to say that they have read, understood and agree to comply with this document.

Blaze Construction actively encourages both Health & Safety and skills training. All personnel hold a current Health & Safety certificate. In addition, all Plant Operators hold a current Plant Operator’s Certificate for any piece of plant they operate, all Operatives hold a current relevant CSCS card and supervisors attend Safety First Aid courses. All details of certificates gained and training received are held at Head Office both in hard copy and on the computer system. This system automatically creates a reminder when an update is required.

Blaze Construction appoints an external Safety Consultant, who visits, inspects and reports on all current sites a minimum of once every five weeks. Sites are also visited by Senior Management and our internal NEBOSH certified staff on a regular basis, Site Supervisors are also entrusted with ensuring that all Personnel and Subcontractors wear all necessary PPE, work safely and adhere to the necessary site safety rules. Blaze Construction acknowledges that its people are its strongest asset and as such it is Blaze’s goal to ensure that they have the safest environment to work in.

The construction industry is incredibly labour intensive and Blaze Construction prides itself on the quality and diversity of its staff and firmly believes that its people are its biggest asset and actively promotes continual professional development.

Blaze Construction has the skills and expertise to deliver the finished product to the highest standard in all areas of works. Its managers and employees live throughout the geographical region in which it operates, which enables Blaze Construction to react quickly and efficiently to contract enquiries, contracts awarded and, most importantly, to any potential problems that may occur. Blaze Construction only employs experienced Site Managers, fully certificated Plant Operators and ensures that all its employees are registered for the relevant CSCS cards.

Blaze Construction’s site staff is further reinforced by its professional staff based at the Head Office. Their aim is to ensure that the on-site teams have all the information, equipment and materials required to carry out the job in hand safely, efficiently and without delay. Since 2017 Blaze Construction have been actively involved in establishing Fareham College CETC to tackle the county-wide skills shortage, a training facility that has now moved to its purpose built campus .
